Celena was the first doula that we added to our team. She has been with us for over three years and she is very loved, experienced and truly gifted at the work she does with the families she supports.
She has been a birth doula and herbalist since 2009. After the empowering experience of birthing her first child at a birth center in Florida, Celena became dedicated to ensuring women have empowered birth experiences, no matter what choices the mother makes during her pregnancy, labor and postpartum period.
She trained as a doula through the International Center for Traditional Childbearing and is certified as a Sacred Pregnancy Instructor as well as a Sacred Postpartum Mother Roaster. She has trained with Full Circle Placenta Encapsulation to provide this nourishing service to the communities she serves.
When she is not working you can find Celena enjoying her family, getting her hands dirty in the garden learning more about health and wellness. In 2014 she joined the core organizing team for the Midwest Womens Herbal Conference and looks forward to this experience each year with her children.
Celena is always looking for ways to assist families more completely and has trained as a Postpartum Doula through ProDoula and is skilled with Rebozo techniques.

Chelsea is one of our well loved labor and postpartum doulas. She is on high demand from the families we support who have multiples. She has twins of her own, which makes her have a deep understanding about twins and multiples. We have been lucky enough to have had Chelsea on our team since 2015.
Chelsea’s birth experience led her to the world of Doulas and felt called to help expecting families in their biggest life change. Offering unbiased and non-judgmental support during YOUR birth, is Chelsea’s specialty. Her out-going and compassionate personality is guaranteed to fit right in with your family.
Prior to her career as a doula Chelsea was a nanny for many families throughout the Chicagoland area. Chelsea has a degree in theater, which she feels helps her to connect with all families and all people. She is the proud mother of twins, Ruby and Roy, and is well equipped to take on any challenge.
When Chelsea is not working you can find her at home playing with her children, spending time with friends, and in the kitchen whipping up a new culinary creation.
She is ready and excited to help you along this life-changing journey. She will be with you every step of the way bringing a deep sense of comfort and calm.

Christine was inspired to train as a doula after the birth of her first child 13 years ago. She initially trained with DONA and has since retrained with Doula Trainings International. She has since gained her certification in prenatal and postpartum Women’s Nutrition and Yoga
As a doula, she believes her primary role is to provide families with culturally sensitive care. This care is an essential component of the emotional, physical and informational support she provides throughout pregnancy, labor, and birth. Supporting each individual family in the way that fits their needs, while inspiring trust in each birthing person’s ability and intuition to birth in the way that empowers them. She also acts as a guide to support the partners involvement. She enjoys being a resource to the families throughout the process and has a vast understanding and knowledge about medical terminology, protocols and systems. She takes pride in providing positive and helpful communication with your entire team and medical staff.

Alex has been a loved labor and postpartum doula on our team for over two years. She has supported many families including families who have twins for both daytime and overnights. She has a gift for making babies and families comfortable and LOVE her.
Alex has always been passionate about families, babies and children. Caring for families has truly been her life’s work. She started her career in early education, completing college with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. After college, Alex worked as a nanny for 4 years, caring for children of all ages.
After a friends wonderful experience with a doula during a rough labor, Alex realized how much support women need throughout pregnancy and labor. This led her to her path in learning, reading, and researching everything she could about pregnancy, birth and babies.
Alex found DONA and completed her labor support training. She has worked with women in hospital settings and at their homes through their labors. She has experience with all types of births and in all settings. Alex took her postpartum doula training with ProDoula and has multiple years of experience with babies and children.
Alex is a Hypnobirth Instructor and has completed courses with The Bradley Method and Informed Beginnings. She completed the Spinning Babies course.
In her spare time, Alex enjoys knitting and crocheting, cooking, spending time with friends, and loves to spoil her dog, Cami!
Juanita is a very loved labor doula on our team. She has been attending births for over 6 years. She trained with DONA and is currently certified by Matrona as an Advanced Doula in Holistic Childbirth. Juanita is familiar and experienced in both hospital births and home births and has supported women in many hospitals throughout the Chicagoland area. She is not only educated in labor and birth support, but she has also completed training in breastfeeding education.
The journey to become a doula was certainly a natural one for Juanita. Family has always been such a huge part of her life and she recognized at an early age that understanding and supporting families came very easy to her. Juanita born second to last in a family of 8, She has always been surrounded by babies, children and birthing women. Passionate about the why’s, how’s of family and community she pursued a career as a cultural anthropologist receiving a Bachelor’s Degree from NEIU. After the support of her doula in her second birth she realized the importance of doula work and felt that she had found her calling in life. Families love Juanita’s calm nature, warmth and passion. She cares deeply about all of the families that she supports.
In her free time Juanita enjoys dancing, working in her garden and spending time with her family. She is also fully fluent in Spanish.
Kelli has been a labor and postpartum doula on our team since 2016. Many of the postpartum families that she has supported have twins. She has been an incredible resource to the families that we support and also to our team of doulas.
Prior to her career as a doula Kelli had a career in the medical field as a medical assistant. She also spent much of her adult life caring for children and families as a nanny. After working in the medical field Kelli discovered her passion for supporting families was the driving force that let her to this career. She wanted to make more of a difference and support families during the most important time. She found that through her work as a birth and postpartum doula she could positively impact a families life.
She completed her postpartum training through both ProDoula and REAL Doula and her Labor Training through Real Doula and has not looked back. She is truly skilled and talented at what she does and she absolutely loves supporting families during this important time. Families love her kind nature, attention to detail and positive presence.
When not working Kelli loves spending time with her three year old son and her extended family.
She has always been passionate about birth and babies and decided to support families through this process as a doula. She trained with Birth Arts International for her Labor Support Training and is completing her midwife assistant training with them as well.
She trained to be a postpartum doula through Maternity Wise and loves supporting families during this incredible time.
She loves implementing all she knows with each of the families that she supports. Marti is a registered Yoga teacher and completed her 200 training and is in the process of completing her prenatal yoga teacher training. She is also in the process of completing infant massage training.
She loves providing families with this important support and her path to becoming a doula truly began years ago when she gave birth with her first. She looked back on both of her births and wished that she would have had the support of a doula, but it was not as common and she was unaware that this support existed.
In her free time Marti enjoys spending time with her husband of 26 years and spending time with her two adult children.
Families love Marti’s kind, gentle and compassionate nature. Her ability to share and teach in the most caring and thoughtful way and her wealth of information.
As the oldest daughter in her family, Nahid was always caring for her younger siblings. As she became an adult she supported women in her extended family who were pregnant or newly postpartum. She has supported women through labor, birth and postpartum since 2014 and in 2016 she completed her doula training with Matrona.
Nahid has always had careers supporting families and teaching. She has spent much of her adult life as a nanny, which also included caring for children who have special needs and who were hearing impaired. Each summer she enjoys working as a Horticulture Educator at Gage Park High School. She also served as a TESL (English as a Second Language) Educator in Central and South America. She worked as a Library Assistant at Sulzer Library and as youth mentor and English and math tutor.
Nahid is a true life long learner. She is a global traveler and studies indigenous cultures and traditions. She speaks multiple languages including: English, Dari, Persian, Urdu, Hindi and is currently learning Spanish. She is a Qi Gong and Tai Chi practitioner and practices meditation regularly. She has attended many herbal medicine and horticulture trainings and conferences. She is also a dancer and musician. She loves to use aspects of her trainings and knowledge to support and guide women in Labor. She incorporates awareness of movement and breath work as a strategy for comfort and pain managements.
The families that Nahid supports postpartum rave about her excellent cooking and diverse cooking abilities. She knows how to prepare variety of Afghani, Indian, Mexican, vegetarian, and vegan dishes. She is very insightful on the healing, warming, and anti-inflammatory properties of food. She learned many Afghani postpartum healing recipes from her grandmother.
Families love Nahid’s warm and kind nature, energy and calming personality. She is an amazing resource and support in labor, birth and postpartum.
Nicole is a well loved labor and postpartum doula. She has over five years experience as a doula and over 10 years experience supporting babies, children and families as a nanny.
As the mother of five, she has a deep knowledge and understanding of what mothers and babies need. She understands how to care for a family and the entire household. She has an ability to connect with families and support them in whatever ways that they need.
Her experiences as a labor doula have been at all area hospitals and with all types of births. She provides a strong sense of calm for laboring mothers and a strong support for families. Her goal is always to provide families exactly what they need and when they need it. Supporting families physically, emotionally and providing them with information so they can feel supported, calm and comfortable is her top priority.
When not working Nicole loves to spend time with her family, bake and crochet.

Cote is a certified Holistic Doula with The Matrona, Reiki Master, and herbalist. Prior to her doula career she was a Montessori teacher. Her focus has always been family and has a deep love for children and education. She feels incredibly passionate about supporting new families through pregnancy, birth and postpartum.
Originally from Chile, Cote is the Mother of three children. She experienced one hospital birth in Chile and two home births in the United States. The birth of her children transformed her life and she discovered how important having support during pregnancy, birth and postpartum truly was.
Cote discovered how empowering and transformative birth and the process of becoming a family truly was. She loves that this is so unique and individual to each mother and family. As a Doula she feels honored to be able to witness that powerful moment in a woman’s and family’s life.
As a Doula, Cote helps families to be educated, understand their choices and to feel empowered during and after birth. She is kind, warm, compassionate, helpful and non-judgmental.
When she is not working as a doula, you can find Cote in her kitchen, cooking nourishing foods for her family and friends, teaching in the community, making herbal products, reading or hiking.
Kelly is a well loved postpartum doula on our team. Families absolutely love her and find her to be an incredible resource and a baby whisperer. Kelly is very hands on and has an ability to know exactly what you need.
She is the oldest of three and for as long as she remembers was always “Mommy’s big helper”. She contributes much of her passion for families and babies to her role in her own family. Kelly’s passion for birth, babies and families was equally fostered by her Grandfather and Uncle who were both M.D.s in Obstetrics/Gynecology and had their own practices until retirement.
Kelly can not remember a time where her role did not involve care taking. At the age of 10 she became a mothers helper for her neighbors family, which included caring for their newborn. From the role of mothers helper she became the trustworthy community babysitter through middle school and high school.
Kelly has spent her adult life as a nanny. Her career shift from a nanny to a postpartum doula was an easy and natural one. She has always supported families and whenever one of her friends or a family member welcomed their newborns she was the first to be called. Kelly recognizes the importance and intensity of this transition and knows exactly how to help. She loves how caring support can change a families experience from stressful and exhausting to enjoyable and fulfilling. Families love her kind nature, easy going personality and ability to step in and care for their family.
She received her Postpartum training and certification from REAL Doula and plans to certify as a birth doula soon. She would love to support your family both daytime and/or overnight.
Adriana immigrated fifteen years ago from her native country of Argentina. She has been a clinical massage therapist for 20 years specializing in techniques including prenatal massage and massage for people living with cancer. She has been a caregiver for terminally ill family members and friends. After a life transition, she realized she wanted to work in a more positive and uplifting role and use her caregiving skill for mothers, babies, and families. This led her to become a birth doula in 2010, a Lactation Counselor, a postpartum doula a Certified Educator of Infant Massage and a Placenta Encapsulator.
Her background in dance therapy has given her a deep understanding and knowledge of relaxation, visualization, and body balance methods that she uses in helping mothers to have a smooth and fear-free labor. She also brings evidence-based information, an abundance of comfort measures, the emotional support you need and a wealth of experience.
She also has been a teacher and leader at women retreats and has always cared for others in need. She speaks Spanish and Portuguese. She is a mother and now a grandmother. When not at work she loves to dance, bike and travel.
Families love her calm nature, expertise, genuine kindness and professionalism.
She has many leadership and self starting qualities that the postpartum families adore. Prior to becoming a Doula, Ashley was a full time manager in a busy store. She utilizes the customer service skills and the time management skills gained during this career to connect with families and go above and beyond with each family.

Beth is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 14 years of experience supporting women and families to promote well-being and maternal/child health. The most fundamental to this was supervising a teen parenting program in Chicago Public Schools that guided and educated young moms. Beth is Bi-lingual in Spanish and has broad experience working with populations at risk. She is also infant/ child CPR certified.
After having her own children, Beth’s path has led her to doula work. She sees that all mothers need compassionate and affirming support after having a newborn and finds the place of walking along families in this transition to be fulfilling. With a kind and warm presence, Beth provides evidence-based guidance to families in her care and also believes mothers are the best experts on their babies.
Beth understands how wonderful it is to begin the journey into parenthood, but also how isolating it is at times. She seeks to empower women through supportive resources and help them access their inner strength. Beth looks forward to working with your family to participate in all of your daily needs.
Melissa is a well loved labor and postpartum doula on our team. She has been a labor and postpartum doula for the past four years and has worked on our team for more than two years. She has always loved supporting families and was a nanny for 15 years prior to becoming a doula. She has many years of experience caring for families who have twins.
Melissa loves to learn and has taken every training she could over the past few years. She trained with Prodoula for both labor and postpartum. She has taken birth classes, happiest baby on the block, newborn care classes, sleep training and other sleep classes, potty training classes and more. Learning new ways to support families brings her a great deal of joy.

Born and raised in Michigan, Jennifer graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Art History and Museum Studies. Jennifer moved to Chicago a few months after graduation. She became a nanny for several wonderful families in the city for the next six years. During this time, Jennifer further pursued her love for yoga and completed her 200-hr. yoga teacher training with Amy Beth Treciokis at Yoga Now Chicago and her 85- hr. prenatal yoga teacher training with Sarah Longacre Ehlers and Stacy Seebart at Blooma in Minneapolis, MN. Through her training at Blooma, Jennifer met many birth doulas and found herself being called to this profession. Jennifer completed her DONA approved birth doula training with Patty Brennan at The Center for Childbearing Years in Ann Arbor, MI in April 2015. Since that time, she has completed training in optimal maternal and fetal positioning through Spinning Babies and served as a birth doula for several amazing families in Chicago. Outside of her work as a doula and yoga teacher, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking, reading, checking out the restaurant and live music scene, traveling and working on her personal yoga practice.
Andrea has been a labor and postpartum doula on our team since 2015. She is well loved for her kind, warm and motherly nature. She loves helping families transition and adjust to their new babies and their new roles.
A life long learner and teacher, Andrea started her career as an early childhood education and bi-lingual teacher. She later turned her passions for teaching and physical well-being into a career as a Pilates instructor. After becoming a certified instructor she has successfully operated a Pilates studio for 15 years, where she provides instruction in pre-natal and post-natal Pilates.
Andrea followed her interests in teaching and supporting women when she decided to become a doula. A very warm and caring person, Andrea takes pride in her ability to anticipate her client’s needs and provide encouragement, as well as emotional and physical support. She delights in helping mothers and their partners have a less complicated and more rewarding birth experience. She is certified through DONA International as a birth doula and also enjoys supporting mothers with postpartum care, where she holds a certification with Pro Doula. Everyone who works with Andrea immediately notices her positive energy and down to earth personality.
Andrea enjoys sharing her life with her two daughters, her grandchildren and her husband.
Kearney began her career as a labor doula after supporting dear family friends in the birth of their son – her godson. That experience confirmed that birthwork and aiding postpartum families was on her horizon.
She trained and completed her certification as a DONA as a labor doula. Clients consistently praise her dedication and professionalism; they always know they are in good hands with her. A proponent of continuing education, she attended additional trainings (Labor Doula, Postpartum Doula and Postpartum Placenta Specialist) offered through ProDoula. Kearney’s previous career as an engineer provided her with a unique set of problem solving skills that enable her to create customized solutions to fit the varied needs of the postpartum families she serves.
Outside of serving families in their child-bearing year, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and creating a variety of projects from knitting and crochet to cross-stitch and paper-folding.
Shelley is a VERY loved labor and postpartum doula on our team. Shelley has supported families through Chicago Family doulas since 2015 and has 22 years experience working with infants and young children. Shelly has spent most of her time on our team supporting families who have twins.
In addition to the many years of hands on experience Shelley also has her Associate degree in Early Childhood Education and ran a daycare from her home for the 9 years prior to her career as a doula. She trained with Dona for her postpartum doula certification and trained with ProDoula for her labor support training.
Shelley enjoys cooking, baking, crafting, singing and reading. She most enjoys spending time with families. She feels that supporting mom, baby and family during the first three months of life is the most important and rewarding job. She truly enjoys watching families grow, bond and has a gift for helping families make this transition with confidence and trust.

Ashley has been a very loved labor and postpartum doula with our team since 2015. She has supported many families through pregnancy, labor, birth and with their baby or babies. She has provided support to families who have multiples and has been a resource to our team, our families and the community for many years.
Ashley is the true definition of a life long learner. She is has been trained and is an expert in many areas. She is a labor and postpartum doula and she provides placenta encapsulation. She also is a trained in postpartum belly binding, babywearing education, tummy time and is a Child Passenger Safety Technician. She also is trained in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders.
She has been passionate about birth and postpartum for many years. She has read every book she can get her hands on about birth, postpartum and women’s health. Prior to her career as a doula she worked as a nanny for over 12 years and has cared for many women and families during postpartum.
She is caring, kind, passionate, fun and friendly. Families love how willing she is to jump in and positively support their entire family. You will love Ashley’s energy, endless information and compassionate nature.
Theresa became a postpartum doula 6 years ago after realizing that this was something she has done in some capacity her entire adult life. She had discovered that she could make a very positive impact on a family’s comfort level and well being when providing care to mom, baby and family during this very precious time. Throughout her adult life she provided support to her many sibling, nieces, nephews, cousins and own children while they navigated parenthood and adjusted to a new baby. She is one of the oldest in a family of seven and many have relied on her vast knowledge of pregnancy, newborns, infants and children for as long as she can remember. She has offered childcare in her home and has cared for families for over thirty years. This has been her lives work. She is the mother of 5 grown children and Grandmother of 4 soon to be 5. You will love Theresa’s calm confidence, vast knowledge of everything mom and baby, ability to get it all done, amazing cooking skills and energy. When Theresa is not working she enjoys hosting family dinners, working out and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Emily has been working with and supporting new families since 2008. With a passion for newborns and the birth experience, Emily has contributed greatly to all of those she has come across in her profession. As a nanny for over a decade, she understands the care and support a mother and surrounding family needs during the stages before and after a new blessing joins the clan.
With a bachelors degree in biological sciences, she is able to take a critical eye to all interventions and methods a mother may be questioning during this time. Her advice is never given without evidence or experience in mind. Support, compassion, and professionalism are all central to her business of being a doula. As a trained Doula through ProDoula and an aspiring midwife, she will be there to work hand in hand with your health care professionals in a way that is unique to your needs.
Emily is loving, passionate and fun. She lives in Evanston with her fiance, Patrick, but spends most of her free time running around the city. Literally! As long as it isn’t too cold, of course.
Emily has been attending Midwifery School, but will be available for birth and postpartum clients May 2017-August 2017.

Anna has supported families as a Doula since 2009 and is committed to providing families with professional, compassionate and personal support. Anna gives 200% in all she does in life and brings this commitment and passion to every aspect of her work as a doula.
Anna has had the reputation of being a kind, calm, and loving person for as long as she can remember. She has always cared deeply for people and strives to support and care for all around her. She has worked with children and families since she was a teen. She supported families in the role of a nanny, preschool teacher, Americorps worker, respite worker and Special Education teacher, and finally as a Birth and Postpartum Doula. Anna was a Special Educator for ten years prior to becoming a Doula.
Anna is truly a life long learner. She earned her Masters degree in Education and has earned multiple degrees in Special Education. Once interested in birth she read every book she could get her hands on, became certified through DONA, Certified as a postpartum doula through ProDoula, Certified to teach Hypnobirthing, and is a certified Happiest Baby on the Block instructor. She loves to learn and is committed to sharing her vast knowledge with the families she works with.
